Historic Houses
The Historical Society of the Town of Greenwich and the Greenwich Association of Realtors will hold a workshop for Realtors, "Enhancing the Value of Older Homes" at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday May 18th at the Bush Holly house. It's a fine idea and I intend to attend but I wonder why participation is limited to real estate agents. It's home owners and builders, after all, who are tearing down so many houses, not us. I've added the Historical Society's website to my link section. The site is informative but I wish they'd update their "houses in the dustbin" list. Last year was 2003.

Finally!
That odd-looking house at 39 Lockwood Lane, originally listed in January,2004 at $2,895,000, has been sold for $2,250,000. It was a very nice house inside, and a real bargain at its final price, but the builder departed from the conventional and built what one unkind critic [Ed. Wasn't that you?] described as a mushroom on steroids. Word to the wise for spec builders: don't experiment.
